Cire Trudon

Trudon Tadine (Sandalwood) Candle - 270g

£90.00

In this geographical odyssey, Tadine travels back to the origins of its rare perfume: sandalwood. When Englishman Edward Foxhall discovered sandalwood on the Isle of Pines, New-Caledonia, in 1840, it was, then, unknown in Europe. By the end of the 19th Century, the noble spiced wood had quite a pedigree, it was used as a precious ointment for the hair and body. A remedy against anxiety, it still billows today, seamlessly embedded in the smoke of Asian incense. Reinvented with hints of cardamom and guaiac wood, this mandarin scented candle will burn for over 60 hours.

Head: Cardamom
Heart: Sandalwood essential oil
Base: Guaiac wood

In 1643, founder Claude Trudon was a respected candle maker and merchant trading handmade wax alongside spices, fruits and flowers. Recognised as the oldest candle maker in the world, 17th Century manuscripts confirm Trudon as the official candle supplier to the French Royal Court with a reputation for using only the finest quality wax.

Today, inspired by the Royal palaces, churches, cathedrals and garden locations where Kings and Queens would once roam, the Trudon collection is a re-imagining of a rich history using ingredients in their purest form from some of the world’s most beautiful regions.

Stylishly presented within hand-blown glass, bearing the signature gold emblem, each Trudon candle is carefully crafted by hand within our Normandy workshop. The ultimate scent and style statement.
