Cire Trudon

Trudon Scented Matches - Esterel (Mimosa)

At Trudon, matches are an essential part of the ritual. Delicately perfumed, it signifies the prologue for some of the stories behind the candles. If the box is left slightly open, they will slightly scent, in their sleep, a drawer, a cupboard or a study.

In this geographical odyssey, Esterel travels back to the origins of its rare perfume: mimosa. Imported from Australia by British botanists at the turn of the 19th Century, mimosa has since become the Côte d’Azur’s floret. The solar bushes flourish on the hillsides of the Esterel Massif, a Mediterranean coastal mountain range. Wild, its perfume is like its clusters: vibrant and delicate.

Head: Bergamot peel.
Heart: Mimosa.
Base: Iris.

In 1643, founder Claude Trudon was a respected candle maker and merchant trading handmade wax alongside spices, fruits and flowers. Recognised as the oldest candle maker in the world, 17th Century manuscripts confirm Trudon as the official candle supplier to the French Royal Court with a reputation for using only the finest quality wax.

Today, inspired by the Royal palaces, churches, cathedrals and garden locations where Kings and Queens would once roam, the Trudon collection is a re-imagining of a rich history using ingredients in their purest form from some of the world’s most beautiful regions.
